When to visit

Wildflower Season (March–May)

Over 1,500 species of flowering plants bloom in the park. Trails are quiet, waterfalls are full, bears come out of hibernation.

Summer Mountain Season (June–August)

Dollywood in full swing, rivers warm enough for tubing, ridgelines cooler than the valley. Busy season. Book early.

Fall Color Season (October–November)

One of the best fall foliage shows in the eastern US. Peak color hits mid-October. The Foliage Hotline is a real thing.

Christmas in the Smokies (December–February)

Dollywood's Smoky Mountain Christmas runs through January. Mountain towns light up. Hot tubs in the snow.
